FAQ

Q: Who should give online?
A: Anyone who is looking for a simpler way to assure their giving. Anyone who would like to give to the mission of Legacy either one time or on a recurring basis.

Q: Is online giving secure?
A: Very secure. Legacy utilizes 128-bit encryption - the strongest, most secure form of data encryption (scrambling information into a format that unauthorized parties cannot decode) available today. Your information is secure. You may also utilize a manual form to provide your personal information if you wish. Simply print and complete the form and return to the Church offices.

Q: When are gifts processed?
A: Gifts to Legacy are processed on the 5th and 20th of each month. Gifts must be entered by the midnight of the 3rd and 18th in order to be processed on these dates.

Q: What if I'm not a member of Legacy, but I want to make a donation? Would I still receive a statement for tax purposes?
A: We would be grateful to receive your gift, above and beyond your normal gift to your home church. All givers will receive a Contribution Statement, regardless of membership, sent to the address you entered in the personal information section.

Q: What if I want to cancel or change my online giving?
A: You will simply submit the online eGiving form again. Be sure to check the appropriate statement at the bottom of the form indicating that the giving request is a CHANGE or an ADDITION to your existing recurring giving already on file. Q: Will my online gifts be included on my Contribution Statement?
A: Yes. All online gifts will be included along with any check contributions received by Legacy.

Q: Can I view my past giving history online?
A: Unfortunately, your past giving history is not currently available online. Your giving history will still be sent to you on your Contribution Statement.

Q: How can I get a receipt of my online gifts?
A: Your gift will appear on your Quarterly Statement of Contributions and year end statement.

Q: What about my offering envelopes?
A: If you sign up for eGiving, your offering envelopes will be discontinued.

Q: What are the benefits of online giving?
A: Online giving allows you to prioritize giving in your budget. Proverbs 3:9-10 states that giving is to be a "first" and not a last or leftover matter in our lives.

You can increase your faithfulness by setting consistent giving that will not be forgotten, left at home or interrupted because of travel or vacations.

You can help the church by expediting your gift and simplifying the accounting of gifts. In addition, scheduled online giving will strengthen the base of support for Legacy and allow the Church to better plan ministry projects and expenditures.

You can encourage the faith and faithfulness of fellow believers. Others who see your planned and prioritized giving will be encouraged to grow and mature in their spiritual stewardship.
